Transdniester, the border of Europe. This breakaway province is wedged between Ukraine on the east and Moldova, from which it seperated 16 years ago, in the west. Thouroughly focussed on Russia, a visit to this place is like a step back in time. The time when the Soviet Union was still a powerfull force in the world. But behind the façade of Soviet symbolism hides an impoverished state that is recognised by no other nation in the world. Life for young people here is not easy, they al want to leave and build a future abroad.
